AMC / AIME
AMC and AIME preparation.
The American Mathematics Competitions are the entry point to the US olympiad pipeline and a strong signal in elite undergraduate applications. We tutor the AMC 10, AMC 12, and AIME, building the problem-solving toolkit each round demands.
About the competitions
What the AMC and AIME look like.
01
AMC 10/12 then AIME
The AMC 10 and AMC 12 are 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice papers sat in November. Top scorers (roughly the top 2.5 to 5 percent) qualify for the AIME, a 15-question, three-hour paper with integer answers from 0 to 999.
02
Gateway to USAMO and USAJMO
Strong combined AMC and AIME scores select students for the USAMO or USAJMO, the US national olympiads. From there the pipeline runs through MOP to the IMO team.
03
Read by MIT, Caltech, Harvard
Competition scores are a recognised signal in highly selective US undergraduate admissions, especially for maths, physics, and engineering. AIME qualification and a high AIME score read clearly on an application.
How we work
Our approach.
01
Build the toolkit
Number theory, combinatorics, geometry, and clever algebra. Sessions are structured around the techniques the AMC and AIME reward, not the school syllabus.
02
Train under time pressure
AMC marks come from accuracy at three minutes a question; AIME marks come from sticking with a hard problem for twelve. We practise both rhythms separately.
03
Past papers, properly used
Decades of past AMC and AIME problems exist. We curate sets by topic and difficulty so students see the patterns and build the intuition the competitions test.
