About the exams
What 11+ maths looks like.
01
Multiple boards
ISEB Common Pre-Test, CEM, GL Assessment, and school-specific papers each test slightly different material. The right preparation depends on the target school.
02
Numerical reasoning + maths
Most papers include both a curriculum maths section and a numerical reasoning section. The reasoning is timed and tightly worded; speed matters as much as the maths.
03
Mental maths is half the battle
Many 11+ papers reward students who can calculate quickly and accurately under pressure. We build the underlying fluency, not just exam tricks.
How we work
Our approach.
01
Target-school led
We plan around the schools the family is applying to. Different schools use different papers and reward different things.
02
Foundations first
Children sit the 11+ a year or two ahead of where the curriculum naturally lands them. We close the gaps before drilling exam papers.
03
Calm exam technique
Timed papers can rattle young students. Sessions build pacing, marking, and the habit of moving on from hard questions, not just the maths.
